I started glamour photography when at university where we had a fully equipped darkroom and the use of the drama department’s performance studios, plus many fellow students who wanted to mode. I’ve kelp up the hobby ever since, one and off, and of course now we are all digital and finding models has gone on line. Sites like The Model Club, Be See Here and many others have come and gone.
It does seem harder to find dependable models who are keen to make a career out of it nowadays. Over recent years the number of new models appearing on the two main UK model sites has steadily dropped. That may be due to OF, AM and AW but with Page 3 dying out, girls may not see a career opportunity. In the past many P3 girls went on to greater things in the entertainment world like Sam Fox, Linda Lusardi and Melinda Messenger.
On this site (and MF and PP) there are fewer and fewer active models. In a search of 25 miles from my location there are 25 models on this site but only five have logged on in the last month and several have not logged on for many years. Then there are girls who do log on from time to time but don’t reply to mail or appear to do any shoots. There is one lady on MF whose sole shoot was 12 years ago but logs on every month or so but never shoots or reply.
Casting calls don't seem to get any response and checking the list of CC I see one lady who advertises her services every day and almost noting elese.
Now the various site owners like to say they have X number of members, and you can understand that but having so many profiles must take up a lot of room on the server. Perhaps a system that deletes profiles that have not been active for a year would help? Or making all members pay £5 a year membership, with the first six months free for new members?
