All my photos, both from modelling and travel/architecture, are backed up onto external hard drives (2 x 4 TB each).

I just came back from 4 months in Turkey, Iran and Russia (2 months in Moscow).  Over 9,000 photos (just my Nikon and Fuji) for these 4 months.

I upload a sampling of my photos to my cell phone, for sharing with people.

My Android phone backs up my photos to my Google drive, limited to 15 GB.

I have over 10,000 photos on my phone (going back 15 years), most taken with my Fuji and Nikon cameras.

I like the Google Photos feature on my phone.    Over 40 folders or Libraries quickly allow me to sort through my photos.

My cell phone has 256 GB memory, only half used.  So no storage limitation on my cell phone.

I am now receiving a message stating I am out of my free 15 GB limit on Google drive.

The big issue is that I can no longer use the Library feature on Google Photos.  A bummer!

One option is to change the storage from "original quality" (which I am now using) to "Storage saver".  Which Google describes as slightly reduced quality.

One question remains, to which I have not found an answer:

-  Does the storage saver feature only affect the quality of the backed up photos (on Google drive)?  Does it leave the quality of my photos on my Android phone untouched?

Regards,

Nicolas
