I'm curious. I know my own motivations for modelling and I know how I feel during a shoot. Modelling is a buzz for me, I enjoy being the focus of attention, I find nudity to be empowering and I love making art. I also enjoy the "surrender" during a shoot, giving up my privacy to create a powerful image.
I've been giving this a lot of thought the past few days because I did my first POV shoot on Monday and I've been posting about how that felt. How aspects were the same and aspects were different from what I'd done before.
I have read what other models (usually female models) have written before about how the feel during a shoot and I often get the impression that their experience is very different from mine. I've read of glamour models talking about making shopping lists in their head during a shoot or being bored and I find it hard to imagine that.
However, I've worked with some wonderful models and I get the impression their experience is similar to mine. They really enjoy expressing their sexuality through their work.
So I thought I'd open this up to the great models on here. I'm guessing that you wouldn't be on this site if you didn't love exploring sex and nudity through photography, but I thought I'd ask you - directly - how you feel about what you do. How does it feel in front of the camera? How does it feel after the shoot when travelling home; do you feel proud of what you've achieved, is it just another job, or do you perhaps just want to put it behind you? How do you feel when you get the images; do you think "Okay, that will be useful to update my portfolio and get more work", or do you think "Wow, what I great image! I'm so glad I did this! I can imagine the reactions of people looking at this!"?
In short; what makes you do, what you do, and how do you feel about it during and afterwards?
Kind Regards
Dave (Model, in case you weren't sure...!)
