It is time for me to look at closing “Ian’s Studio” in Stockport. (www.ians-studio.co.uk/find-us/) I am currently spending at least 50% of my time caring for my 92-year-old mum; my wife & I are hoping to move house next year and I am looking at semi-retiring. As a result, I can’t justify keeping the studio much longer, and I will be giving up my lease on my studio sometime next year. I have had the studio since 2011 and will be very sad to say goodbye.
With the Landlord’s permission, and before he puts the space on the market, I wanted to see if any photographers would like to take over the lease.
The cost of renting the space is currently just £995.78 per quarter. [No VAT as the Landlord is not VAT registered] (plus gas, electric, water, and annual buildings insurance). So I don’t think you will find a similar space that is as cost-effective.
The studio is currently fully equipped with lights, stands, backgrounds, tables, desks, and chairs – in fact, everything you would need to run a studio. I am happy to negotiate over selling on most of the equipment/furniture.
If you want to have a look around inside I have a virtual tour of the studio here: www.ians-studio.co.uk/photographers/studio-virtual-tour/ or contact me and I’ll arrange to show you around.
If I can find a photographer who wants to take the studio on, we can discuss timescales for the handover. If I can’t I will be closing the doors on the studio sometime in 2024.
