I've nearly filled up my sandisk extreme pro ssd drive with images so thought I'd get a G-drive 4TB and use this as my back up. Started transferring files, all was going well and pretty quickly, but on one file my MacBook froze and the spinning multicoloured wheel kept turning forever. nothing was responding and Force quit wouldn't highlight so I had no alternative other than to turn off my MacBook and turn back on again.
MacBook restarted as normal, ssd card was 'visible' and the files on the front page were still there, but all the files in the private access folder (my images) have all disappeared!
I have tried disk-drill but it can only find the files in the front page. So am I buggered? Have they gone never to be seen again?
