A few members have recently expressed concern at the number of fake profiles, including me. AF is being promoted on an escort forum as a means for men to find women for sex. AF is also discussed on other forums by photo collectors where they ask other forum members, who have blagged AF accounts, to rip images from here so that they can keep them.
I have put a number of new profiles through Pimeyes and they come back to people with a different name, in a different country often with no evidence that they do adult modelling.
The same members visit our profile almost every day. They have zero references and have been on here for years.
I clicked on an AF link earlier and wasn’t logged in. The AF landing page said “sign up now and get access to over 168840 members-only photos, for free”. Why is AF looking to attract such people? Someone looking to access members only images is neither a model or a photographer. It makes a mockery of those who consciously chose to set images to members only, and only attracts the wrong kind of people.
I have had several conversations with “models” only to decide they are fake after wasting my time. I don’t know what their motivation is. Is it to mess people round? Obtain phone numbers? Blackmail? Set someone up to be robbed? I rarely message new members now, which is a shame.
I am really concerned about the integrity of the site, and expect the risk to models is even higher. It might explain some of the bad experiences some members have had recently. I fear AF is seeking quantity over quality and it will only deter serious models and photographers from joining.
However, I don’t know what the answer is! Thoughts?
