Okay, just been reading a POV thread highlighting dangers, which is fair enough and it's important that people know the risks. I don't work to certed levels, I only work to protected levels but there are models/photographers who have asked me to produce certification even so, so that they know I am "clean", which is also fair enough.
The problem is that I live in Manchester, not London, and it seems to be completely impossible to get any kind of written documentation of sexual health here! Unless you go to a private clinic (which I cannot afford), your choice is either an NHS clinic or a charity such as the LGBT foundation etc which offers free testing. Both of those kinds of services only offer TEXT notification, which basically says "Your results came back negative." and nothing else! Not exactly certification.
I have asked them not to TEXT me, I have requested notification in writing. I have declined to put a phone number on the application form (but they have my details on the computer system). All to no avail. The charity clinics refuse to send written notification at all, citing Data Protection as an excuse, the NHS says it will and then doesn't.
I also don't know how you go about getting tested month after month without answering questions that I really don't want to discuss - why do you need this? Ermmm... ummm???
Can anybody in the area who has successfully managed to maintain certification advise me on how to overcome these issues please? It is really frustrating! And reading a thread that pretty much states I'm a "rank amateur" because I don't get certificated monthly is demoralising when the service just doesn't seem to be available!
Kind Regards
Dave
